The conditions made this crossing particularly challenging and it added a good 25% of the time normally required for this distance.  This was Emily’s first Open Water race.  The short distance and the added difficulties imposed by the current and waves made it a good first experience.

Emily finished at 1:00:06, in 14th place out of 37 women in her age group, #41 out of 86 women, #216 out of 375 overall (81%)

Mauricio finished at 0:00:49:32, in 18th out of 80 men is his age group, #114 out of 375 overall (30%)
